moving to North Carolina.....?

moving to North Carolina.....?
My wife and I plan on moving to the Charlotte area soon. Does anyone have any advice on a good place to move to.We have 0 kids, but plan on raising our family there and both work in the public schools, so jobs in that area would have to be available. Nothing to much in the country, but not downtown either. Thanks We want to buy a house in the 150-175,000 range

University area would be a great place or you...Many new subdivisions out o o Mallard Creek (Church and Lane,) and on the border of CLT/Harrisburgh i.e. Caldwell Rd, Tom Query, or Back Creek Church. Set away rom downtown but accessible to resteraunts, the race track, grocery stores, and Concord Mills (the biggest mall in NC.) I bought a house in the area (coventry subdivsion) there 3 years ago, and just sold mine two weeks ago for a profit...most houses range from 150-225K Look of of H-49 past around I485, or around the mallard creek area off of 85 also.
