I am a new teacher from New York looking to relocate due to a bad job market up here. What are some nice suburbs outside of Charlotte with good schools?

I don't know if moving to NC is gonna solve the bad job market issue, we just moved to TX because the situation in Charlotte was becoming unbearable. But we work in a totally different industry, so it might be different for your field. Matthews is a wonderful place to raise a family, great schools, beautiful family oriented community. 20-30 min. commute to charlotte downtown, close to everything. Try to stay in the southeast side of Charlotte, avoid the west side altogether. University area is nice, been there only a handful of times, but looks like a nice area, except that for me, it seems like it's far from everything. Matthews, Ballantyne, Pineville, Indian Trail, Waxhaw are all nice areas, good schools, low crime. Good luck, I hope everything works out for you.
